Digital Scrapbooking - Save Your Memories and Save Money
Many traditional scrappers are taking the step into digital scrapbooking. Modern technology has made taking this step so easy. Digital scrappers can use their own personality when creating their scrapbook pages without the limitations of traditional scrapbook supplies.
There is also the plus side of how you can save money by going digital. When a traditional scrapbooker uses an embellishment on a page, it can’t be used again. You have to have more on hand to use on additional pages. Digital elements can be used over and over again on as many pages as you need. That means an infinite number of design choices. It also means less waste and expense.
Setting Up Your Digital Scrapper Space
Chances are you already have what you need to get started. First you’ll need a computer with a graphics software program installed. There are many program available. I use Adobe Photoshop, but if you are looking for a free open source alternative, try GIMP. Many digital scrappers use Adobe Photoshop Elements or ACDSee
What else do you need? I recommend a large-format printer if you print your layouts on 12″x12″ papers. Otherwise you could use a sandard printer if printing 8″x8″ papers. A wireless mouse is nice for this type of work, as is a graphics tablet, but not required. A scanner is also a must have. Many digital scrappers scan in fabric pieces and items from nature for their digital papers. Last but not least a digital camera. That’s the reason for all this, right? That’s about all you’ll need as far as your space. Add a little creativity and you’re all set.
