Yes, it is my favorite time of the year - Garage Sale Season. I can smell a garage sale sign a mile away. It’s a great feeling getting those garage sale goodies with the change you have in your coin purse. Forget the mall. If you want to make my day, invite me to a garage sale or two. But lately there are some things that really bug me about garage sales. It could be that I’m easily irked now because I’m older, but here we go.

SGT Jackie McCutcheonMemorial Day has special meaning for me. I served in the U.S. Army. Yep, that’s a photo of me. I was SGT McCutcheon when that photo was taken. There is a special place in my heart for our soldiers.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim Memorial Day, May 29, 2006, as a day of prayer for permanent peace, and I designate the hour beginning in each locality at 11:00 a.m. of that day as a time to unite in prayer. Hello $4.00 A Gallon Gas … Hello Geo Metro?

The average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in my area is now $3.86. It won’t be long and I know it will hit $4.00 per gallon. I live in town with a Walgreens and IGA nearby. I normally ride my bike for trips with small purchases, but there are times when having a car would be nice - especially since garage sale season is here. My car died last year and I just haven’t got around to buying another one.
